Miguel Ángel Sotelo received the degree in Electrical Engineering in 1996 from the Technical University of Madrid, the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2001 from the University of Alcalá (Alcalá de Henares, Madrid), Spain, and the Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the European Business School in 2008. From 1993 to 1994, he held an Excellence Research Grant at the University of Alcalá, where he is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering and Vice-president for International Relations. In 1997, he was a Research Visitor at the RSISE of the Australian National University in Canberra. His research interests include Self-driving cars, Cooperative Systems, and Traffic Technologies. He is author of more than 200 publications in journals, conferences, and book chapters. He has been recipient of the Best Research Award in the domain of Automotive and Vehicle Applications in Spain in 2002 and 2009, and the 3M Foundation Awards in the category of eSafety in 2004 and 2009. Miguel Ángel Sotelo has served as Project Evaluator, Rapporteur, and Reviewer for the European Commission in the field of ICT for Intelligent Vehicles and Cooperative Systems in FP6 and FP7. He was Director General of Guadalab Science & Technology Park (2011-2012) and co-founder and CEO of Vision Safety Technologies (2009-2015), a spin-off company established in 2009 to commercialize computer vision systems for road infrastructure inspection. He is member of the IEEE ITSS Board of Governors and Executive Committee. Miguel Ángel Sotelo served as Editor-in-Chief of the Intelligent Transportation Systems Society Newsletter (2013), Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Magazine (2014-2016), Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems (2008-2014), member of the Steering Committee of the IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Vehicles (since 2015), and a member of the Editorial Board of The Open Transportation Journal (2006-2015). He has served as General Chair of the 2012 IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium (IV’2012) that was held in Alcalá de Henares (Spain) in June 2012. He was recipient of the 2010 Outstanding Editorial Service Award for the IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, the IEEE ITSS Outstanding Application Award in 2013, and the Prize to the Best Team with Full Automation in GCDC 2016. At present, he is Past-President of the IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Society.

Danwei Wang received his Ph.D and MSE degrees from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1989 and 1984, respectively. He received his B.E degree from the South China University of Technology, China in 1982. Since 1989, he has been with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Currently, he is professor and Head, Division of Control and Instrumentation. He is a senator in NTU Academics Council. He has served as general chairman, technical chairman and various positions in international conferences, such as International Conference on Control, Automation, Robotics and Vision (CARCVs) and IROS conferences. He is an associate editor for the International Journal of Humanoid Robotics and served as an associate editor of Conference Editorial Board, IEEE Control Systems Society from 1998 to 2005. He was a recipient of Alexander von Humboldt fellowship, Germany. His research interests include robotics, control theory and applications.

Brian Park is a Professor of Engineering Systems and Environment Department at the University of Virginia. Prior to joining the University of Virginia, he was a Research Fellow at the National Institute of Statistical Sciences and a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at North Carolina State University. Dr. Park received the B.S. and the M.S. from the Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, and the Ph.D. from the Texas A&M University.
Dr. Park is a recipient of PTV America Best Paper Award, Outstanding Reviewer Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers, Jack H. Dillard Outstanding Paper Award from the Virginia Transportation Research Council and Charley V. Wootan Award (for best Ph.D. dissertation) from the Council of University Transportation Centers. He is an ASCE ExCEEd teaching fellow.
He is an Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Transportation, an Associate Editor of the American Society of Civil Engineers Journal of Transportation Engineering, Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems and the KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering, and an editorial board member of the International Journal of Sustainable Transportation. Furthermore, he is a member of TRB (a division of the National Academies) Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing Applications Committee, and past chair of Simulation subcommittee of Traffic Signal Systems Committee. He Chaired the Advanced Technologies Committee of ASCE Transportation and Development Institute.

Chiharu Ishii received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Sophia University, Japan in 1997. He worked at Ashikaga Institute of Technology between 1997 and 2002, at Kogakuin University between 2002 and 2009, and at Shibaura Institute of Technology between 2009 and 2010. He has been working at Hosei University since 2010, and currently working as a Professor with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering at Hosei University. Dr. Chiharu Ishii has received several awards such as The Best Paper Award in the area of Tactile and Haptic Interfaces at the 4th International Conference on Human System Interaction (HSI 2011); Best Paper Award at the 1st International Conference on Computer Science, Electronics and Instrumentation (ICCSE 2012); Best Presentation Award at the International Conference on Intelligent Mechatronics and Automation (ICIMA 2013); Excellent Oral Presentation Award, at the 4th International Conference on Soft Computing & Machine Intelligence (ISCMI 2017). He is currently a member of IEEE, SICE, JSME, RSJ, IEEJ and JSCAS. His research interests are in medical robotics, assistive technology and robust control.

Prof. Li Weigang is a full professor, coordinator of TransLab and chair of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Brasilia (UnB), Brazil. In 1994, he received Ph.D. degree from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), Brazil. In 2001, he was a Research Visitor at the University of Calgary, Canada. Currently, He is a fellow researcher (PQ) from Brazilian National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). He has coordinated various R&D projects with the financial supports from CAPES, CNPq, FINEP, FAPESP and FAPDF, and also from the industry partners such as Atech, Boeing Company and Brazil's Department of Airspace Control (DECEA). He has served as a member of the editorial board of various journals such as Transportation Research Part C; Frontiers of Information Technology and Electronic Engineering (FITEE); and also served in the programs and scientific committees of several international conferences such as IEEE Intelligent Transportation Systems Conference (ITSC) and Brazilian Conference on Intelligent Systems (BRACIS).  He was the general coordinator of the Brazilian Air Transportation Research Symposium (SITRAER) in 2006, 2012 and 2019. Prof. Li was invited as a mentor in the graduate program by the National School of Civil Aviation (École nationale de l'aviation civile), France; and advised more than 100 students including PhD students and Postdoctoral researchers during his long career. His main research interest is Artificial Intelligence and its applications such as Intelligent Air Transportation (Air Traffic Management and 4D NAV) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) with deep learning. He was the recipient, together with his PhD student, of the 1st place among the best monographs awarded in 2016 by the Brazilian Civil Aviation Secretariat (SAC) and the 2020 Distinguished Editorial Board Member Award of FITEE, by Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Springer-Nature.

Hironori Suzuki received Doctor of Engineering in transportation engineering from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand in 2001. After serving for Japan Automobile Research Institute (JARI) as a researcher, he joined the Faculty of Engineering, Nippon Institute of Technology as an assistant professor. He is currently teaching at Department of Robotics in Nippon Institute of Technology as a professor. He has been acting as the chairperson of Human Factors Research Committee, Society of Automobile Engineers of Japan from 2018 to 2020. Currently, he is serving as a member of Human Factors Research Committee of Society of Japan Automobile Engineers of Japan (JSAE) and Automobile Engineering Committee of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME). His research interests are modelling of traffic systems, traffic simulation, active safety measures and driver assistance systems.
